It’s Gallery time and clever Tara has the most beautiful picture on her blog today of someone who’s going all out for Christmas. I can’t help but admire their chutzpah as they zoom towards the big day on a multi-coloured sleigh.
Here in Dulwich, unfortunately life is a bit more restrained – except in Divorce Towers, where my two foot angel is threatening to crush the Christmas tree again with the weight of her sumptuous velvet frock. Regular readers may remember that I bought her online several years ago, thinking she was, oh, maybe 10cms high. I got a bit of a surprise, when the postman arrived, staggering slightly under the ginormous box, my girls fell utterly in love with her, and successive Christmas trees have been buckling under the strain ever since. Here she is in all her sparkly glory:
This year I tried to get a shortish, fattish tree to balance out her towering presence, and I also chose one without a central spike for her to go on top of. She is actually nestling in a little cage of branches, which I’m hoping brings down her height somewhat. I said somewhat. Anyway, she’s sparkly and we love her.
